Dr. Jason Davis Apparently there is no market for a "Dinosaur Doctor". As a young boy this was not clear to me and it was my first career choice. Once the fact that all possible patients had been extinct for 65 million years was explained to me, I was forced to settle on a new idea: to become a pediatrician. As a school-age youngster, I began to learn about pediatrics by volunteering at nearby hospitals. Between semesters at SUNY Binghamton University, I continued my interest with various summer internships on a local pediatric ward. My love for biology and evolution continues to this day. After graduating from college, I was fortunate to attend The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. In that dynamic setting, I was privileged to receive a great basis and experience in clinical medicine and with the example of many wonderful physician mentors, to develop a sense of compassion that has aided me throughout my career. Life has a tendency to play out in circles. I had the unexpected opportunity to complete my Pediatric Residency at the hospital where I was born, North Shore University Hospital, in Manhasset NY. Three years and one hospital merger later, I was asked to stay on for an extra year as chief resident, where my fellow co-chiefs and I helped to supervise more than 120 physicians complete their pediatric training. After two years in private pediatric practice on Long Island, my wife's new job brought us to Fairfield County where I joined New England Pediatrics in 2007. As the newest associate in a busy and interesting practice, I look forward to caring for our patients and families in the best way possible. More simply put by my two-year old daughter, "Daddy go to office. He fix babies!" When not at work I enjoy spending time with my wife, daughter, and new twin sons, and am an avid reader, especially of history and science. |
